How does it work?

As the name of the site suggests, a video call via Skype (free to use) is by far the best way to connect with your students. If you’re unfamiliar with Skype you can find out more here or have a chat with your school’s IT technician. Basically, you only need the following:

– an internet connection
– a microphone
– a webcam
– Skype
– some form of screen (e.g. smartboard or television monitor)

This will allow the video from my webcam to be projected onto the smartboard or video monitor in the classroom or school hall. Your microphone and webcam will allow me to see and hear your pupils and leads to a more interactive experience. If you have any questions you can email me via the contact page on the left.

However, if you don’t have a webcam, a microphone will at least let me hear the questions and the class can still ask me questions. No microphone either? Questions can still be typed into Skype and the class can see and hear my answers. I am currently working on a possible alternative to Skype where the class can see me and ask me typed questions via this website.
